Club Review : Club 440 (Milford, Ohio)

I will preface this post by saying that Club 440 was the first swingers club that Mrs. Penguin and I attended, and we still frequently attend this club, so that experience may impact the neutrality of my review.

Club 440 is a swingers club on the east side of Cincinnati. It has been open for quite some time, and is well known within the lifestyle community in the area. The club has a mixed reputation, with some swingers swearing by it, and others saying to avoid it. Management has changed several times over the years, so some of the older reviews that are floating around the internet may not represent the current state of the club.

 On to the review....




Facilities: Club 440's biggest fault is its facilities. The new management is doing what they can to improve them, but the building as a whole is not in the best condition. The basement play areas suffers from frequent water leaks and there are not enough bathrooms (3 separate 1 toilet bathrooms, and 2 urinals in a fairly open area). The building as a whole is often very hot, especially in the summer. There is no bar, all guests simply help them self to the soda fountain, drink coolers, and snack bar. Another fault with the facilities is the relative shortage of table space, although management has re-arranged the table layout a bit to help mitigate this issue.


For all the faults that Club 440's facilities have, alot of things are done right as well. When you enter the club after paying your entrance fee, you walk into an open lobby area. From the lobby, you have access to each distinct area of the club. The locker room is next to the entrance to the lobby, and there are always plenty of lockers for the guests, even on busy night. The lockers are also larger than the typical club locker, giving you plenty of space to store your things. The lobby has a bathroom in it, and has stairs leading up and down to the play areas (more on those in a minute). From the lobby, you can also enter the dance club section of the club.


The dance club is well laid out, with a large dance floor in the center, and seating areas on either side. On the side of the dance club closest to the lobby, you will find a DJ booth, an additional bathroom, and 2 play rooms (a glory hole room, and a private room lit up with black lights). On the far side of the dance club, you will find a pool table, snack bar, soda fountain, and beverage coolers. There are a few nooks with more intimate seating for small groups, a stripper pole, and a shadow box for club goers to use as well.

Club 440 has 2 separate play areas that you can access from the lobby. If you go downstairs, you will find a sitting area that has an additional bathroom and 5 private rooms accessible from it. Each room has a different theme, such as a BDSM dungeon, a firefighter themed room, and a hall of mirrors room. Some of the rooms have windows that you can leave open or closed, depending on how much you want to show off while you play. If you leave a window or door open, you can be assured that you will quickly have an audience. The other play area that is accessible from the lobby is the loft. The loft is an open room with 7 beds in it. Only couples are allowed to go upstairs to the loft, and everyone must get naked downstairs before going upstairs to the loft (you are allowed to wrap yourself up in a towel while you walk from the locker room to the loft)

Location : Club 440 is located in Milford Ohio, on the far east side of town. The club is only a few minute drive off the exit, and is easy to find. There are several restaurants and a movie theater off the same exit, so you have some options if you are looking for a quick date night before you hit the club. The club is located about 20-30 minutes from downtown Cincinnati, and is pretty convenient to get to if you are driving in from Dayton or Columbus.

Clientele : You will find a variety of people at Club 440. People of all ages, races, body types, and socioeconomic status attend this club. While most of the club members are swingers, there are always people in attendance who are just looking for a cheap night out, enjoy people watching, or are just looking to get laid. Club 440 is easily has the most diverse membership of any club I have visited. This is a double edge sword however, as while there will almost always be someone there who you are attracted to in attendance, the diverse crowd means that you will likely be just as many people who are are not attracted to as there are people you are interested in. For the social swinger who enjoys meeting and talking with different people as much as they enjoy playing, the diversity is awesome, as it gives you a huge variety of people to talk with, but for the swinger who is looking to play above anything else, it can prove challenging. Overall, the members of Club 440 are very friendly and welcoming, and it is very easy to make friends and socialize at Club 440.

Prices : Club 440 is an inexpensive club to attend. Club membership fees are reasonable, and the memberships never expire. While the club entrance fees seem to vary a little bit from month to month, Fridays are typically cheaper than Saturdays. Like most clubs, single women are very inexpensive, couples pay a higher price, and single men pay the highest price of all. All categories of nightly fees are still cheaper than most other clubs I have visited.

Overall Impression : Mrs. Penguin and I both enjoy going to Club 440. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. Is it the only club we attend? Not at all. In fact, virtually every aspect of Club 440 could be improved in some way. The overall experience of attending Club 440 is greater than the sum of its individual components, and despite its flaws, I still have a very positive view of the club. If you are looking to attend the classiest club with the best facilities populated by the best looking swingers you have ever seen, I would suggest looking elsewhere, but if you are looking to have a good time in a laid back environment with normal people, Club 440 may be worth checking out.
