Club Review : Club NV (Muncie, Indiana)

Club NV is an on premise swingers club in Muncie Indiana. Over the years, a few lifestyle friends have recommended Club NV to Mrs. Penguin and myself, but we had never had the opportunity to make the drive to check it out. Recently, Club NV hosted a theme night that really appealed to us, and since we had a few friends who were attending the club that night as well, we decided to give it a shot. After our visit, we knew that we had to write a review of Club NV.

On to the review....

Facilities:

Club NV, like most swingers clubs, is located inside a nondescript, somewhat run down looking building. The building itself fits in with the area where the club resides, and anything with a more maintained appearance would look very out of place. While the outside of the building may not look like much, the rest of the facilities are very impressive.

The club has a secure, fenced in, well lit parking lot. There is plenty of room to park your car, and there are even a few spots with electrical outlets to plug in your RV or electric car (30 amp, 120v service). The club has both stairways and handycap accessible ramps leading up to the entrance.

When you enter the club, you enter into a small hallway that has both the membership window and the entrance to the locker room in it. The locker room is clean and well lit, and there is sufficient locker space for all of the guests. The lockers are large enough to allow you to easily store all of your stuff, and there is plenty of room to get changed into your club attire. At the end of the entry hallway, you will find the bathrooms, and the entrance to the dance club area. The restrooms are sufficient for the number of people in attendance on a typical night, but the club could potentially benefit from some additional restroom space.

The main section of the club is the dance floor area. The club has a large central dance floor. A stripper pole and DJ booth are near the dance floor, and there is no shortage of tables and seating on the other 3 sides of the dance area. Even on a busy night, nobody will have a problem finding a table to sit at. One side of the club area has a u shaped bar (although there is not a bartender on duty to serve drinks), and there are several nooks with couches to allow for a more intimate setting for small groups to get to know eachother. There is a small room with a pool table (free to play) off one side of the dance club, and an exit to an outdoor patio area near the back of the club. The outdoor patio is very nice, and features an outdoor pool table and sitting areas.

The main dance floor also has a doorway that leads to the kitchen. Inside the kitchen area, there are coolers to keep your drinks cold (Club NV is BYOB, simply bring your drinks with you and drop them off in the cooler), a soda fountain, and the buffet. On Saturday nights, Club NV has food available for guests. On the night we attended, the main course was beef brisket sliders, and the quantity and quality of the food was easily enough to make for a filling meal. The kitchen area is a little bit out of the way, and traffic can get to be a little bit congested going to and from it, but overall the accommodations for food and drink at Club NV are well done.

Most people who visit a swingers club are interested in playing, and Club NV offers plenty of places to do just that. The entire basement level of the club is set up for play time. There are 2 stairways allowing access to the lower level, one on each side of the club, allowing for an easy traffic flow to and from the play area. The main part of the play area is a large open area with several beds in the center. There are numerous private rooms off of this main area as well. Some of the private rooms are basic rooms with nothing more than a bed, while others offer attractions such as sex swings, BDSM equipment, and small group play areas. Off of the main play area is a couples only area. The couples only area provides couches and a stripper pole, a few tables and chairs, and 8 or so beds. The beds are in the open, but have plastic chains around them so that onlookers are kept at a respectable distance away. The are towels and sheets available in the play area, and the area is well ventilated as to not become uncomfortable hot or humid. There is not a shortage of available rooms, and I anticipate than any swingers looking to have a good time would have no trouble finding an available room

Location :

Club NV is located in the eastern side of the city of Muncie, Indiana. There is not much in the way of food or lodging close to the club, but Club NV does offer a shuttle service to help visitors staying nearby get to and from the club. While the neighborhood surrounding the club does not appear to be the most economically advantaged area, I did not feel unsafe driving through it. The club is a little over an hour from Indianapolis, An hour and a half from Dayton and Ft. Wayne, A little over 2 hours from Cincinnati, and 2 and a half hours drive from Columbus. While Muncie is not particularly close to anything, the location of this club actually makes for a great destination club for out of towners looking to occasionally visit a club outside of their home town, and the club draws visitors from all of the surrounding cities.

Clientele :

Club NV attracts visitors from Muncie and all of the surrounding cities. The majority of club members appear to be in their 40's, but there is no shortage of members in their 30's or 50's as well. There are fewer members in their 20's or 60's, but depending on the night there will likely be a few present. Racially, the club is representative of the region as a whole, with most club members being caucasian, with a variety of other races present but represented in smaller numbers. Club NV appears to be slightly more blue collar than white collar, but there is enough variation in vocation and economic status that nobody would feel out of place at Club NV. The majority of club members are swingers, with very few people showing up just to drink and socialize. One of my biggest take away from our visit to Club NV was that everyone who shows up will be welcomed and accepted, it has one of the most inviting and enjoyable membership bases I have seen.

One policy that I had not seen at a club before, but that Mrs. Penguin and I both really liked, was the wristband policy. Club NV welcomes everyone, but it does ask all men to wear a wristband denoting their status. Single men wear one color of wristband, and men who are part of a couple wear another color. Women who are interested in being approached by single men have the option of wearing a wristband them self, and single men are asked to not approach any woman who is not wearing a wristband. This system allows single men to easily identify who may or may not be interested in meeting them, and allows couples or women who are not interested in single men an easy way of identifying who is who. Most female swingers have been to a swingers club where there are countless single men introducing themself, and while many female swingers welcome this, it makes others uncomfortable. The wristband policy helps to ensure that everyone has a good time.

Prices :

Club NV, like most swingers clubs, is a members only club. Unlike most swingers clubs, however, club NV does not try to make money off the membership fees. An annual membership for Club NV is only $1. Membership can be applied for through the clubs website, or at the door. Nightly door fees are reasonable, with prices on Friday night being a bit cheaper than Saturday night. Like most clubs, single women pay the lowest entry fee, with couples paying a higher fee, and single men paying a slightly higher fee than couples. While the nightly fees at Club NV are slightly than some other clubs we have visited, I feel that the prices are fair, and that Club NV actually offers an good overall value.

Overall Impression :

Mrs. Penguin and I both really enjoyed our visit to Club NV, and plan on returning again in the future. Many swingers club excel in one area, while they are lacking in others. Club NV, while not the best club in any one area, is a solid performer across the board. The facilities are good, the people are good, the atmosphere was good, the staff was good, the music was good, the food was good. Every single category gets a passing mark. Is Club NV perfect? Absolutely not, but it is one of the rare clubs I have been to where I did not leave thinking "I really wish they would change that".

The ownership of Club NV is a couple in the lifestyle themselves, and they clearly know what other swingers are looking for in a club. It is obvious that they are willing to make investments in their club to make it a more enjoyable place for its members to attend, and they could not possible have been more friendly and welcoming to us during our visit.

While Swingingtoday.com does not give scores or rankings to swingers club, I would recommend that any swinger who is within driving distance check out Club NV, for Mrs. Penguin and I, it was worth the trip.

If you have been to Club NV, please feel free to share your experiences with us in the comments section, we love to hear your opinions and stories.
